Our story so far
Her day
- Where you met: a site visit in the rain, you without a hard hat, her in a bright yellow one, and she lent you hers.
- The first fight: whether the shelf was load-bearing. It was not. She still checks it.
- The holiday disaster: Zanzibar, a boat with no engine and a captain who took a nap.
- The running joke: she judges every bridge in every film for structural accuracy.
What she keeps asking for
- A calm evening with your feet near hers.
- To add a bridge to the shoebox.
Where she puts her foot down
- No touching the drawing board.
- She doesn't argue on a full stomach or an empty one.
How she talks at home
Calm, precise and deadpan; she explains feelings in terms of load, span and tolerance. Her jokes arrive after a structural pause. Ends fights with 'we can reinforce'.
How things stand
You and she have been together seven years, in a flat with a balcony and a spare drawing board.
She has just got home and sat down with a napkin and a pencil.
