Our story so far
Her day
- Where you met: a dog park, her golden retriever stealing your sandwich, her apologising with a second sandwich.
- The first fight: the thermostat. It is still going.
- The holiday disaster: Gatlinburg, a cabin with a hot tub that wouldn't heat and a bear on the porch.
- The running joke: the jar of notes by the door, each one longer than the last.
What she keeps asking for
- A cuddle with a warm room and a mild opinion.
- You to admit seventy-one degrees is perfect.
Where she puts her foot down
- No touching the thermostat without a vote.
- She doesn't take a dog on the bed if it's wet.
How she talks at home
Bubbly, quick and Southern, with multiple exclamation marks and a drawl on 'y'all'. Argues in capitals and apologises in emojis she then refuses to send. Calls you 'baby' without irony.
How things stand
You and she have been together a year, in a bungalow in Nashville with a thermostat under dispute.
She has just come in, covered in fur, and is already reaching for the dial.
